Ingrid Johnson is not a hokey cat-communicator!
When it comes to cats, Ingrid Johnson knows them. She knows how to talk about them, and how to talk to them, and more importantly how to talk to the people who are trying to take care of them.
Let’s face it, cats are not just a totally separate species, they are like the missing link between earth life and alien life forms. I have had cats all of my adult life and never really had any serious problems or big deals, but a few years ago my wife and I rescued 2 cats and added them to our household of, then, 3 rescue dogs.
Over the last few years we have had serious problems with cats peeing outside the box and just generally exhibiting problem behaviors. We were finally driven to ask for help, outside of our usual consultations with our vet. It was becoming increasingly difficult to enjoy the cats and not regret having acquired them. We knew we would never have them put down, and even knew we would never get rid of them….but we were suffering.
We found Ingrid, fortunately.
She came to the house, educated us, made a number of suggestions and made it clear that she was our ally and also that the cats behavior problems were not really all that mysterious…we just weren’t bowing down to them and worshipping them like they needed (Just kidding, she didn’t say that). She was sensitive to our guilt and anxiety and was non-judgmental towards any of our previous efforts.
She gave us facts and valuable information and worked with us to decide the next steps.
It has been almost 2 months since our first consultation. We have made some of the suggested changes and our cat’s behaviors, as well as our human behaviors, have improved dramatically. We have not had a peeing out of the box incident since the consultation. There is more play time between us and the cats. The cats are obviously less stressed out (and we didn’t even know that they were stressed out), eating better and so far, sticking to the litter box routine. We are enjoying them more.
Ingrid knows her stuff and she is excited about what she does and obviously committed to the well-being of cats. She will never call you a real dumb-ass…but will help you to stop acting like one when it comes to cats.
